A motorcyclist died after a high-speed crash Sunday evening in northwest Las Vegas.
The crash occurred around 7:40 p.m. at the intersection of Bradley Road and Azure Drive. Police said a Honda motorcycle was traveling northbound on Bradley at a high rate of speed, approaching Azure Drive. A Nissan Sentra was also north on Bradley and slowed intending to turn right at the intersection.
The motorcyclist rear-ended the slowing Sentra. The 27-year-old man was then transported to UMC Trauma with life-threatening injuries where he was later pronounced dead. He was identified as Joshua Connell of North Las Vegas.
The 74-year-old male driver of the Sentra stayed on the scene and did not show any signs of impairment. Both he and his 56-year-old female passenger had minor injuries.
This was the 12th traffic-related fatality in the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department's jurisdiction in 2016.
