Two people on a motorcycle died in a crash near Overton Tuesday evening.
The crash involved two occupants on a bike that crashed around 5:10 p.m. near Echo Bay and North Shore roads after the motorcycle failed to make a curve and ran off the roadway to the right. The motorcycle operator then overcorrected, causing the motorcycle to rotate counterclockwise. The motorcycle then traveled down a culvert ejecting the operator and passenger.
Nevada Highway Patrol reported the 59-year-old male operator of the red Harley Davidson died. Later, NHP said a 51-year-old female passenger on the motorcycle died. Both of them were from West Palm Beach, Fla.
The Clark County coroner will release their names after relatives have been notified.
No other vehicles were involved.
There have now been 28 crash-related fatalities in the Nevada Highway Patrol-Southern Command's jurisdiction in 2016.
