Motorcyclist critically injured in Tuesday morning crash

UPDATE: The LVMPD Fatal Section is responding to investigate this traffic collision. Witness statements and evidence at the scene indicated a 2015 Yamaha R3 was traveling east on Twain Avenue and failed to maintain the travel lane at a curve in the roadway.

The motorcycle and rider traveled off the south side of the roadway and the rider was ejected into a wrought iron fence.

Emergency medical services transported the motorcycle operator to Sunrise Hospital with critical injuries. This
collision remains under investigation.

ORIGINAL STORY:

The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department is currently investigating a critical-injury crash that was reported in the area of the 3700 block of Hazelwood Street, near Twain Avenue and Swenson Street.  

The crash was reported at 9:45 a.m. and involved a motorcycle.  

The motorcyclist has been transported to the Sunrise Trauma Center with critical injuries.  

Traffic is being shut down at Twain and Swenson for westbound travel and at Twain and Hazelwood for eastbound travel. LVMPD Fatal Detail has not been notified at this time.
