A motorcyclist is in critical condition after a truck and a motorcycle collided near San Gabriel Avenue and San Leandro Street.

The crash was reported at approximately 2:10 p.m.

The 30-year-old motorcyclist was transported to Sunrise Hospital & Medical Center. The Henderson man was initially pinned under the pickup truck.

The truck that was involved is a City of Henderson truck, driven by 41-year-old Nathan Ball, an employee with the Building and Fire Safety department. He made a left turn in front of the motorcyclist.

The initial investigation shows the employee failed to yield to the motorcyclist. Speed is not considered to be a factor in the crash.

The employee was not injured.

Drugs or alcohol do not appear to be factors in the crash. The employee submitted to a drug and alcohol test. The investigation into the incident remains ongoing.

The intersection of San Leandro Street and San Gabriel Avenue was closed for about three hours while the investigation and clean up was conducted.
