A motorcyclist was critically injured in a crash early Wednesday.

The crash occurred between a motorcycle and vehicle around 5:50 a.m. Police said 25-year-old Bradford Carrington was riding on a motorcycle south on Pecos Road approaching the intersection with Gowan Road when a Pontiac Grand Am attempted to turn left in front of the motorcycle. The motorcycle then hit the right front of the Pontiac and overturned.

Carrington was ejected from the motorcycle. Initially, the motorcyclist was transported to UMC Trauma with what were non-life threatening injuries. Police said the rider's condition turned critical sometime after 7 a.m.

The 21-year-old driver remained at the scene and did not show any signs of impairment.

The intersection was closed off after the crash while the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department's Fatal Detail investigated.
