Motorcycle rider dies in west Las Vegas crash

LAS VEGAS (KTNV) — A motorcycle rider is dead after a single-vehicle crash in west Las Vegas overnight.

Police say a 30-year-old man was riding a Yamaha Warrior when he lost control of the motorcycle and hit the center median of West Flamingo Road near South Torrey Pines Drive just before 9:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

He was separated from the motorcycle and police say he hit several decorative metal cacti in the crash.

The man was transported to UMC Trauma where he died from his injuries. His identity and cause of death will be released by the coroner's office following notification of the next of kin.

This death marks the 34th traffic-related death in the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department’s jurisdiction for the year 2020.

This crash remains under investigation.
