LAS VEGAS (KTNV) — Police are investigating a crash on Monday night involving a motorcycle rider who tried to escape from an officer attempting to make a traffic stop, police say.
A Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department Traffic Officer was trying to stop a motorcycle in the area around 6:30 p.m. According to authorities, the rider's motorcycle hit the officer's motorcycle and the man ran away from the crash scene.
He was captured by arriving officers.
Police say the officer was transported to the hospital for precautionary reasons because the crash caused him to fall from his motorcycle.
The incident is under investigation and police say the intersection will be blocked for a few hours.
