UPDATE AUG. 23: Police say the 47-year-old operator of a small 2018 Yong Fu bike has died. Police say a 2019 Honda Insight driven by a 27-year-old man was exiting a private driveway when the bike slid into it. Emergency personnel transported the man to Sunrise Hospital but he died despite life-saving efforts. The driver of the Honda did not show any signs of impairment. The incident is still under investigation.

LAS VEGAS (KTNV) -- A moped rider is in the hospital with critical injuries after a crash in the east part of the Las Vegas valley, police say.
The crash happened around 8 p.m. near Russell and Pecos roads.
Pecos was closed in both directions as officers investigated the incident.
Impairment does not appear to be a factor, according to authorities.
