A moped rider died of his injuries after a crash into a garbage truck earlier this month.
At approximately 2:51 p.m. on Feb. 10, a moped was involved in a collision with a garbage truck on southbound Boulder Highway, north of East Russell Road.
Reports say a 2007 model garbage truck was stopped on Boulder Highway when the rider of a 2011 Cixi Kingring Moped changed lanes to travel in between the garbage truck and other vehicles that were stopped at the intersection. The front of the moped clipped the back of the garbage truck causing the moped and the driver to overturn.
On Feb. 17, the Clark County coroner notified the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department Fatal Detail that the 61-year-old rider of the moped succumbed to his injuries and died at Sunrise Hospital.
