A family of four has been left homeless after a mobile home fire at 1 a.m. on Monday near Walnut Road and Lake Mead Boulevard.

The homeowner says he was heating up some food, and then when he turned around, his kitchen was on fire. His first instinct was to wake up his wife, grab his children, and run.

"I tried to open the stove and it's a lot of smoke, and I go see my wife, hey, get out! Take those kids out, please," said David Patino.

His wife told 13 Action News her kids were baptized only a few days ago and their toys were brand new.

The fire was put out a few minutes after firefighters arrived at the scene. The home was completely destroyed.

No injuries were reported at the scene. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
