The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department is investigating after two middle school students reported they were robbed while walking to school.

Monday, Brian Smyles,14, said he was walking to Bailey Middle School with his friend. The teens were at the intersection of Hollywood Boulevard and Alto Street when a gray pickup truck pulled up next to them.

"His homies, like, came up to us and took our stuff and that's when he cocked the gun and started pointing it at us," Smyles said. "I was shocked."

The robbers, described as three to four men and one woman, got away with cell phones, backpacks, and cash.

"You took a wallet with a few dollars in there. It was nothing. Their little belongings, school work, backpacks, it doesn't make any sense," said Brian's sister who is his legal guardian.

Police tell 13 Action News a similar incident was reported just moments after Smyles filed a police report. The two cases could be related. Anyone with information is encouraged to call police.
