UPDATE: The Clark County coroner has identified the deceased as 45-year-old John M. Vounas Jr. from Las Vegas.
EARLIER STORY
A man died in a shooting early Wednesday morning east of downtown Las Vegas.
Police said at least a dozen shots were fired and there are shell casings all over the road on the 2300 block of Olive Street, near Charleston Boulevard and Fremont Street. The victim called 911 around 2:40 a.m. before eventually dying of his injuries.
"As I walked towards him the officers came up as he was laying on the ground," said witness Ed Williams. "As they pulled up, he took his last breath."

No arrests have been made nor a suspect description released.
The man's identity will be released by the Clark County coroner.
