Police set up a perimeter near Flamingo Road and Tamarus Street around 12:11 p.m. Saturday.
Reports say the barricade situation began as a domestic dispute. The situation escalated when a male suspect barricaded himself inside a residence with a machete.
His girlfriend, who is nine months pregnant, was able to escape. She did not sustain any injuries and was taken to the hospital for unrelated medical issues.
Officers took the male suspect into custody. No injuries were reported.
