A 34-year-old man was found deceased after an SUV got swept into an Arizona wash early Thursday morning.

Just after midnight, the Mohave County Sheriff's Office received information of an SUV that had been swept into a running wash and had become submerged off Shinarump Drive just west of Oatman Road. Search and rescue swift water technicians responded to the area to begin searching for the submerged vehicle and its sole occupant.

The vehicle was located about 6/10th of a mile from Shinarump Road by searchers along the bank of the Holy Moses Wash. As swift water technicians continued searching, the Classic Air Medical helicopter located the driver, identified as Golden Valley resident Joshua Allen Carlisle, about two miles from where the vehicle had originally entered the wash. He was found deceased.

The high water marks along the wash varied between 10 to 20 feet above the dry wash bed.
