A male pedestrian died after being struck by a semi-truck Monday morning on southbound Interstate 15 near Jean.
The crash occurred around 9:50 a.m. near Mile Marker 11 in Jean.
Witnesses reported to Nevada Highway Patrol that a man was seen walking in and out of the travel lane just prior to being struck.
The right southbound travel lane was closed to traffic after the crash but both lanes were open again by noontime. Traffic was still backed up, after a combination of cleanup efforts and holiday travelers, for a couple hours after the accident.
UPDATE
The pedestrian was identified as 23-year-old Justin Prokop from Burgettstown, Pennsylvania, by the Clark County coroner.
