A man is dead after being stabbed Monday morning on the 3800 block of James Paul Avenue, which is near Sahara Avenue and Sandhill Road.
The man was pronounced dead at UMC Trauma. The stabbing was reported at 11:40 a.m.
At this time, no one has been arrested.
The man stabbed was identified as 25-year-old Ronald Wise III of Las Vegas. He died of a stab wound to the chest.
Police said there was an argument and he was stabbed in back and neck. He then banged on a neighbor's door for help before succumbing to his injuries.
Homicide detectives determined the victim had been involved in a verbal dispute with another man outside of the residence where police found him. The stabbing took place near the garage of the residence.
The suspect fled the scene before officers arrived. However, police believe the suspect was likely known to the victim.
This is the 60th homicide investigated by the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department in 2016.
