Las Vegas police say a man crashed a stolen cab overnight.
The man was a passenger in the cab before he stole it while being dropped off at the Stratosphere hotel-casino on Las Vegas Boulevard around 10:30 p.m. Wednesday,
He reportedly pulled a weapon on the driver. After the driver jumped out of the vehicle, the man took the cab and fled.
Police were following him with a helicopter when he crashed near Interstate 15 and Cheyenne Avenue.
The crash resulted in lane closures for several hours.
The man was transported to the hospital.
