On Feb. 22 around 2 p.m. Nye County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to the area of the Pahrump Post Office in reference to a bomb threat in progress.
Nye County Deputies responded and set up a perimeter around the Pahrump Post Office staging deputies at all intersections in the proximity of the Post Office for citizen safety.
While deputies and detectives maintained the perimeter, street crime detectives were able to approach the scene and identify the suspect as Dwight Orndorf. Orndorf was taken into custody without incident.
Orndorf did confirm that he made the accused threats of blowing up a Federal Building among other comments and threats toward the safety of others.
Orndorf did not bear any device or weapon and subsequently said he was just mad. Orndorf was transported to the Nye County Sheriff’s Office and booked on the above charges.
