A 51-year-old man has been arrested in the fatal crash investigation that claimed the life of 2-year-old Evelyn Green last Sunday.
On Friday, officers arrested 51-year-old Daniel Garcia-Martinez of North Las Vegas, who was reported as the driver of a white 1995 Ford Econoline van that was involved in last Sunday’s fatal crash.
Garcia-Martinez struck and killed the child prior to leaving the scene.
Garcia-Martinez was arrested for felony duty to stop at the scene of an accident involving death, failure to give information to party’s at a vehicle accident, failure to give information to officers at a vehicle accident, and driving without a valid driver license. Bail has been set for $1 million.
Green's father was relieved that an arrest has been made.
Garcia-Martinez's neighbors say he's a good man who was in the wrong place at the wrong time.
The Green family says Evelyn's funeral will be in Los Angeles Saturday.
