LAS VEGAS (KTNV) — School police say a man was arrested for having a gun on campus at a Las Vegas elementary school.
On April 25 at 2 p.m. officers responded to a call regarding the incident at Paul Culley Elementary School near Jones Boulevard and Washington Avenue.
Officers say Donnie Poland was arrested for having a 9mm gun on campus after his wife got in a dispute with another man.
Poland retrieved his gun during the argument, but school police say he never pointed the gun at the other man.
Poland and his wife drove off campus. He was later apprehended for having a dangerous weapon on school property.
This arrest comes after several Vegas-area students were arrested in threats and gun cases. Also on April 25, a 16-year-old student at Del Sol Academy of the Performing Arts was arrested for having a 9mm handgun on school property.
Earlier in the week, several other students were arrested after officers investigated social media threats to shoot people, and a 15-year-old was arrested with a loaded stolen handgun at a high school campus.
