A man has been arrested for sexual assault at Freedom Park on Mojave Road.
It happened on March 1. Las Vegas police were called to the park at 3:28 a.m. to investigate. Upon arrival, police officers located the female victim and she was transported to University Medical Center to be treated.
Police say that the victim had been walking near the park and was approached by the suspect, 34-year-old Joseph Warren.
Warren reportedly forced the victim into the park and committed the sexual assault. Police say the victim did not know Warren before the attack.
After gathering information, a warrant was issued on March 6. He was arrested the next day near North 22nd Street and East Owens Avenue. He was booked into Clark County Detention Center on charges of sexual assault, kidnapping, battery to commit sexual assault, and open and gross lewdness.
On March 8, he was rebooked for an additional count of open and gross lewdness case in connection to a case in February 2016.
