The clerk made the call and gave the phone to the man. That's when the two men, who were outside of the store, ran away to a nearby apartment complex.

However, they returned, and one of them shot and killed the man who was requesting help while on the phone with police. After the shooting, the two men then ran from the scene.

“They fled into the apartment complex to the south. So right now, we’re in the early stages of our investigation. We are attempting to pull video from all of the area businesses. including the 7-Eleven,” said Lt. Raymond Spencer.

Officers say they have detained two men and were trying to determine whether they were the men in question.

Police described the person killed as a white or Hispanic man in his early 20s. The employee inside the 7-Eleven was not hurt.
