It was a hero’s welcome inside McCarran International Airport, as war Veterans arrived back in Las Vegas after being honored in the nation’s capital Sunday.

Twenty-nine World War II & Korean War veterans were greeted by family, friends and community members inside Terminal One.

While in Washington D.C., the veterans checked out several war monuments and memorials that stand in their honor.

A few veterans were overwhelmed by the show of support once they got off the plane.

"It made me proud, and felt that I was welcome,” says James Jarvis, a World War II veteran. “It felt that what I had done was worthwhile"
