LAS VEGAS (KTNV) — A high school pep rally broke out right in the middle of baggage claim at Mccarran Airport Thursday evening for a special welcome home.

Faith Lutheran students were welcoming home their classmate Mark Wilbourne.

He returned home after rehabbing for months at a Denver hospital.

Wilbourne was involved in a near death experience - a freak accident in January as he was training for a triathlon that left him paralyzed.

While he received a hero's welcome at the airport what was waiting for him at home was even better.

While Wilbourne was away, contractors renovated his parents' Summerlin home for free - giving him a wheelchair accessible bedroom downstairs near the front door.

Wilbourne will soon be graduating high school and also excited to be heading to college soon.
