LAS VEGAS (KTNV) — Many of us call Las Vegas home, and several visitors call it home through the holiday season.

In a recent study, AAA ranked Las Vegas among its top five overall domestic holiday destination list.

Also, the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority's latest ad campaign focused on travelers choosing to spend their holidays in Southern Nevada.

13 Action News caught up to Latasha Britt, visiting from South Carolina, and she says Vegas is a lovely place to be in December.

"We've never been here [Las Vegas] before. So, we wanted to try it. Someplace new. It's lovely," Britt said.

Kamila Cabha told 13 Action News that Vegas has become a tradition to visit over the holidays.

"We like it here. There's a lot to do and a lot of attractions with concerts going on every night to keep us all busy," Cabha said.

Others chose to spend their Christmas Day at their neighborhood bar. Moon Doggies on Arville Street wasn't just pouring alcohol and playing Christmas tunes for its customers. They also served a traditional Christmas Day meal with turkey and ham.

New Year's Eve is next up on the 2019 holiday list, and the LVCVA says Vegas can expect about 333,000 visitors to celebrate.
