LAS VEGAS (KTNV) — One person is dead following a shooting at 4385 North Las Vegas Boulevard Thursday night.

According to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, multiple people called in reporting a man had been shot.

Police say that two people got into a verbal argument with one another near the window of a fast-food restaurant, which eventually escalated into a fight.

The suspect, described by police as a Black male in a black hoodie with grey sweatpants, pulled out a firearm and shot the victim multiple times before fleeing.

Officers rendered aid until medical personnel arrived and took the victim to UMC hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. Two others experienced non-life-threatening injuries with one being taken to UMC hospital and the other staying on scene.

Lt. Jason Johansson does not believe the incident was accidental.

"Right now I do not believe this is a random incident," Johansson said. "I believe that both these parties knew one another prior to this incident."
