In addition to being the hottest day so far this year, 113º ties the daily temperature record set back in 1969.

This is the hottest temperature recorded at McCarran since July 28, 2018 when Las Vegas hit 114º.

An Excessive Heat Warning is still in place through 8 p.m. tonight for portions of southern Nevada.

Heat exhaustion and heat stroke are both possible with this extreme heat, so it's important to limit strenuous outdoor activity, stay hydrated, and take breaks in the shade when spending time outside.

An increase in moisture is expected to kick off a slight cooling trend moving into midweek, with highs back closer to the seasonal average of 104º by Wednesday.
