The Las Vegas Medical Marijuana Association (LVMMA), the largest non-profit organization for medical marijuana in Nevada, in conjunction with Jardin Cannabis Dispensary will be hosting a commemoration for Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. at the Jardin Premium Cannabis Dispensary at 10 a.m. Jan. 18 at 2900 E Desert Inn Rd Suite #102, Las Vegas, NV 89121.

The purpose of the event is to recognize Dr. King's legacy of social justice and to raise awareness of the horrible impact that the "war on drugs" had on African American communities. We also want to raise awareness of the need to expunge past marijuana convictions which affect many African Americans when trying to get jobs and loans. John Laub, President of LVMMA, “It’s the important that the marijuana industry is one of diversity and inclusiveness. Last year’s event had a big impact on the young people that attended.”

A number of political leaders, including Tick Segerblom, Steven Horsford and Dina Titus, have been invited to say a few words along with a number of African Americans leaders in the marijuana industry.

Coffee, donuts and baked goods will be provided.
