The newest hotel-casino on Fremont Street may be one step closer to becoming a reality.
The Las Vegas City Council gave the green light to begin construction on the property that will sit on the west end of the Fremont Street Experience, across from The Golden Gate Hotel-Casino.
Earlier this year, the Las Vegas Club, Mermaids and the Glitter Gulch strip club were demolished to make room for the new property.

Derek Stevens, who is heading construction on the new property, has been tight-lipped on details, but it is set to open by 2020.
