A jury was picked Wednesday to hear the death-penalty trial of a self-described pimp accused of killing three people by shooting into a moving car and causing a fiery crash on the Las Vegas Strip.

Prosecutors and defense attorneys plan opening statements Thursday in Nevada state court.

Ammar Harris has pleaded not guilty to murder, attempted murder and felony weapon charges in the February 2013 incident.

He's accused of shooting from an SUV and wounding an aspiring rapper driving a Maserati before the sports car slammed into a taxi that burst into flames.

The Maserati driver, taxi driver and a tourist from Washington state were killed.

Police traced the shooting to an exchange of words at a casino valet following a hip-hop concert at a nightclub at the Aria resort.
