Judge Tim Williams has issued a restraining order that prevents the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department from ordering officers to work overtime.
The Las Vegas Police Protective Association submitted the request for the restraining order. 13 Action News was notified of Judge Williams' decision on Thursday.
LVPPA has also filed a lawsuit against LVMPD earlier this year. They're asking the courts to decide whether or not LVMPD is allowed to mandate that officers work overtime.
For the time being, officers that work for LVMPD will not be required to work overtime.
