Neighbors living near Charleston and Rainbow turned to 13 Action News for help after dealing with days of power outages.

They say for four days, the power to more than 200 homes and businesses in the area would be out for 6 hours at a time.

"It's ridiculous," one neighbor said. They said they'd tried calling NV Energy, but the problem would start up again hours after being fixed.

The outages also impacted a restaurant nearby. Frijoles and Frescas say their main power was on, but their A/C was off, leaving their restaurant a sweltering 95 degrees. The manager says although they've managed to stay open, it's costing them customers.

We contacted NV Energy, and they tell us they were aware of the situation. They sent out crews and tell us the problem was caused by damage to underground cables that may have been made worse by the recent rains. They say there has been an ongoing effort in that area to fix them, and the power is now back on.
