A minimum security inmate walked away from a work assignment with the Nevada Division of Forestry (NDF) around 12:30 p.m. on Friday, according to the Nevada Department of Corrections.

The inmate, Juwan Ameil Stuart, was on a cleaning assignment near U.S. 95 and Valley View when he walked away from the work crew. Stuart was housed at Three Lakes Valley Conservation Camp located roughly 30 miles north of Las Vegas.

Stuart was serving a 14 to 48 month sentence for possession of a firearm by a prohibited person. He is described as a black male, 5 feet 10 inches tall, brown eyes, black hair, and approximately 200 pounds. He was last seen wearing blue jeans, a white t-shirt with a blue button-down shirt, and black boots.

The NDF trains minimum security inmates to fight wildland fires at the conservation camps. They work in the community when not deployed at a fire.

Anyone with information about Stuart's whereabouts should call 911 or contact their local law enforcement.
