It's the first day of the new school year for the Clark County School District.

Thousands of buses and drivers were busy getting ready this morning to pick up students all over the Las Vegas valley.

CCSD Superintendent Dr. Jesus Jara is also up early this morning, visiting bus yards and schools.

Safety is a priority, of course. There are some new crosswalks in the valley school officials and police have been reminding everyone the last couple of weeks to be extra careful today.

Unfortunately, the school district is still looking for teachers and others. There are currently 750 teacher vacancies.
