Hump-day holiday: Celebrating the 4th of July on a Wednesday

We are just five days away from the 4th of July and that means the holiday falls smack dab in the middle of the workweek this year. 

As many are trying to decide which weekend to celebrate, 13 Action News has tips on how to navigate this midweek holiday.

"Wednesday, 4th of July means nothing to us," said one passerby.  

While grateful to live in America, many expressed frustration that the holiday didn't fall on a Friday or Monday. That would mean there would possibly be a long holiday weekend. 

Most people were annoyed that they have to go to work before and after the holiday.

"Kind of a bummer," said one woman.

The Wednesday holiday also raises an important question: which weekend should you celebrate?

The Washington family was set on their plans.

"We're going to celebrate the day of the 4th," said Lisa Washington.

While others told 13 Action News they planned to celebrate all week.
