How to win $30K making a video about the 2020 Census

LAS VEGAS (KTNV) — The U.S. Census Bureau is hosting a video competition with a $30,000 cash prize for the top winner.

The agency says Census Accelerate, an initiative within the innovation arm of the Census Bureau, is holding a "Get Out The Count" video challenge and looking for short, creative and informative videos about the 2020 Census.

There's a total of $50,000 in cash prizes on the line: $30,000 for the grand prize winner, $10,000 for the runner up, and $10,000 for the student prize.

According to the official website:

The challenge will focus on short-format video content—30 seconds to 3 minutes in length— for social platforms like YouTube, with the goal of informing the public about the importance of the census, and activating them to self-respond.

The U.S. Census Bureau will be awarding a total of $50,000 for video submissions that can encourage hard to count communities to fill out the Census.

Submissions are due by on April 17 at 11:59 p.m. EDT (that's 8:59 p.m. Las Vegas time) with winners announced in May.
