HONOR FLIGHT: Emotional day for veterans in Washington

WASHINGTON D.C. (KTNV) — It was a very emotional day for the 25 local veterans who were flown by Honor Flight to Washington, D.C.

The veterans visited 7 war memorials.

They started the day with the World War II memorial followed by the memorial to Iwo Jima and the Air Force memorial.

The veterans and their guardians then watched the changing of the guards at Arlington National Cemetery, a silent ceremony that was filled with emotion.

Next, four of the Korean War veterans participated in laying a wreath at the Korean Memorial,

The vets also visited the Lincoln and Vietnam memorials followed by stops at the Navy memorial and National Archives.
