High school students from across the state took part in the Nevada Musical Theatre Awards Sunday.

The best musical theatre students from across Nevada performed at The Smith Center.

Judges will select one male and one female to be named best actor and actress.

"Support the performing arts because these kids are wonderful and they have so much to give and so much to express," said Tracey Hunsaker whose son is competing for "Best Actor".

The winners will take a trip to New York City where they will train with professional artists.
