HENDERSON (KTNV) — The City of Henderson announced it is offering discounted adoption fees at its animal care facility during December.
A 50 percent adoption fee discount is available for adult dogs, cats, and rabbits at Henderson's Animal Care and Control Facility.
Henderson officials said they hope to place every adoptable cat, dog (at least one year old), and rabbits into loving homes.
The "Home for the Holidays" event runs until Dec. 31 with the following posted prices:
• Adult Cats: $40 (regularly $80)
• Adult Dogs: $45 (regularly $90)
• Rabbits: $17.50 (regularly $35)
The shelter is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Saturday (closed holidays), and is located at 300 E. Galleria Dr., near Boulder Highway.
Two Henderson PetSmart locations are also participating in the event with cat adoptions during their regular business hours.
These locations are 286 W. Lake Mead Pkwy. and 531 N. Stephanie St.
Adoption costs include routine vaccines, spay or neuter surgery, if not already done, microchip ID and registration, along with rabies tag or Henderson license (depending on where you live).
Anyone with pets at home who wish to adopt must provide current rabies vaccination and spay/neuter paperwork to get licensed, according to a shelter spokesperson.
