HENDERSON (KTNV) — A Henderson teen is on the road to recovery after he was hit and critically injured by a vehicle earlier this month.

Deonte' Jermael Williams, 14, was crossing the street near Green Valley Parkway and Olympic Avenue on March 8 at about 2:45 p.m.

Henderson police responded to the crash after a car made contact with him while traveling east on Olympic.

The Green Valley High School student was transported to the hospital with critical injuries, according to police.

"When people are driving, you got to understand that you know other peoples lives are at risk and not just your own," Dennis Williams, father of the teen, said.

Thursday, Williams' family informed 13 Action News that he was moved out of intensive care but had to continue rehabilitation before leaving the hospital.

The crash remains under investigation according to the Henderson Police Department.
