Henderson police officer shot at on freeway

On March 9, around 10:45 p.m. a marked Henderson Police Department K9 officer was driving south on US 95 approaching Flamingo Road.
 
As the officer was driving, he noticed a vehicle that appeared to be driving in a reckless manner behind him. The vehicle began to pass the officer when he heard 7 to 10 gunshots coming from the vehicle.
 
Due to traffic conditions, the officer was unable to get behind the suspect vehicle before it exited the freeway.
 
Neither the officer nor his K9 partner were injured in this event, nor were any bullet impacts located on the K9 vehicle.
 
Detectives from the LVMPD Southeast Area Command Patrol Investigations Section responded to conduct an investigation and as of this writing the suspect or suspects remain outstanding.
 
The suspect vehicle is described as an early 2000’s model Lexus sedan, possible 300 series, and light in color.
 
The vehicle is also further described as having a partial California license plate of 4----26.
