Henderson Police officers handed out two citations to motorists failing to yield to pedestrians on Henderson roadways in a twelve-day effort targeting pedestrian safety that ended on Monday, August 29.
Henderson Police used extra patrols targeting busy intersections looking for motorists not yielding to pedestrians in crosswalks and pedestrians not using crosswalks or crossing against the light during the enhanced enforcement effort.
Officers handed out eleven pedestrian citations for failure to cross in a crosswalk and walking against the light, as well as jaywalking.
Officers issued over 250 citations to drivers for speeding. In addition, officers also issued a number of citations to drivers for driving with no insurance, registration violations and driving on a revoked, suspended or expired driver’s license.
