Henderson police arrest 4 impaired drivers during enforcement event

Henderson Police officers arrested four drivers on DUI charges and issued over 500 tickets to motorists during a recent enforcement effort targeting impaired drivers over the Labor Day weekend.
 
Traffic officers conducted a Joining Forces event with officers from the Nevada Highway Patrol, using saturation patrols and DUI checkpoints to look for impaired drivers.
 
The combined effort took place August 31 through September 12.
 
Henderson Police officers made a total of 448 stops with 532 total citations written during the operation.
 
Officers issued 275 tickets to motorists for speeding and another 17 citations for running a red light. Officers also issued 101 tickets for drivers with no insurance, registration violations and driving on a revoked, suspended or expired driver’s license.
 
Clark County had 39 of the 61 alcohol-related traffic crash deaths in 2015 with a total of 211 of the 326 traffic fatalities.
 
There were 14 traffic-related deaths in Henderson in 2015.
