A guard-gated Henderson community became the target of a string of break-ins early Monday morning, according to neighbors.

Residents say a handful of cars were broken into inside Anthem Country Club.

One family, who was too afraid to be identified, said the suspect or suspects even tried to break into their home.

"We heard this loud noise, like a car ran through the house," said the man, "I started screaming as loud as I could."

The family says a brick had been thrown at their glass sliding door.  One pane of glass was shattered.

"I don't know if they're in the house, if they have a weapon," said the father.

His four children were sleeping just steps away.

The perpetrator ran off when the family turned on the lights inside their home.

"Totally vulnerable, I had nothing I could really do," said the man.
