Chopper 13 was fast and first over a fast growing brush fire in Henderson Monday night. Smoke could be seen for miles as the fire grew.

The fire was in the remote area near Galleria Drive and Weston Ridge Street.

The call came in around 5:50 p.m.

People who live nearby kept stopping by to check on the fire and make sure it wasn't going to spread to the other side of the fence, closer to their homes.

Originally, Henderson Firefighters responded to the scene with two pumper engines and a truck but quickly realized they needed BLM's help with specialized wildfire fighting equipment.

The fire was mostly put out by 9:30 p.m.
