Around 8:55 a.m. Tuesday, Nye County Sheriff's Office was dispatched to Rosemary Clarke Middle School for a student who brought a firearm to school.
A student told a school staff member about another student who brought a gun to school in a bag. The staff member confiscated the bag without incident. No ammunition was with the weapon.
There were no reported displays of the firearm in a threatening manner to any students or staff. The student was taken into custody without incident and turned over to juvenile parole and probation.
The teen is expected to face a juvenile charge of possession of a firearm at a school.
