UPDATE: The lockdown at Green Valley High School has been lifted.
Police say they received a call from a woman who said a man attempted to strangle her. Upon arrival, police officers heard a single gunshot. Not knowing what was happening, they placed the high school on lockdown and closed off the neighborhood.
They eventually discovered a man who had killed himself.
The investigation is ongoing. The Clark County coroner will release the man's name and age after relatives have been notified.
Green Valley High School is on lockdown at this time due to police activity in the area.
Henderson police say that they received a call this morning about a possible domestic battery in a neighborhood near North Arroyo Grande Boulevard and Whitney Ranch Drive/
As officers were responding to the call, they heard a single gunshot.
The high school was placed on lockdown as a precaution.
