The Henderson Fire Department responded to a residential structure fire on Hidden Hollow Lane, near South Green Valley Parkway and Paseo Verde Parkway, on Dec13 at about 11:25 p.m.
The first arriving engine company observed heavy fire and smoke coming from the three-car garage of a two-story single family residence. Further investigation revealed the fire had extended into the main body of the home.
Crews quickly accessed the garage and interior of the residence to attack and extinguish the fire.
The residents were home sleeping at the time of the fire and were awakened by the smell of smoke.
They safely exited the dwelling with their pet bird.
There were no injuries to residents or fire personnel. Two adults were displaced by the fire and are being assisted by the American Red Cross.
A City of Henderson Fire Investigator, Henderson Police, NV Energy and Southwest Gas Corp. assisted in securing the residence.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation. The total loss value has not yet been determined.
