UPDATE JULY 30: According to Clark County coroner, Kenny Keys Jr. died of a gunshot wound to the head. His death was ruled a suicide.

A former football player for UNLV has died at the age of 25. 

Kenny Keys Jr. died on July 20. The details of his death have not been disclosed.

Keys,who was a safety, played in 53 games between 2012 and 2016, earning a medical red shirt in 2013. He finished his career at UNLV with 206 tackles and 3 interceptions. 

Keys is the older brother of Rebel Kendal Keys, who is currently a senior and a wide receiver for the football team. 

A GoFundMe page was started to collect donations for a funeral, which is scheduled for Aug. 7.
