The first night of the Electric Daisy Carnival kicked off Friday night at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.

Thousands of people are expected to come to Las Vegas for the three day music festival.

On Friday, traffic was backed up all along I-15 north heading towards the speedway.  Even locals heading to EDC said it took them more than an hour to drive 10 minutes to the speedway.

Fire crews were also on hand ready to make sure people stay hydrated in the desert heat.

Big names like Martin Garrix and Afrojack were the highlights on the first day of the festival, which runs all weekend.
